About Peshawar

Peshawar (Pashto: پېښور; Hindko: پشور; English: Peshawar) is an ancient city in Pakistan and the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.  It is also the administrative center of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.  Built in a large valley, the city is located at the eastern end of the Khyber Pass.  It borders Pakistan and Afghanistan.  Located at the crossroads of Central Asia and South Asia, the city is one of the largest cities in the region and culturally diverse.  Peshawar receives irrigation canals from the Kabul River and the Kunar River.
